Hesketh, Barossa Valley, Shiraz, 2018

Barossa Valley is my favourite place on Earth for Shiraz and this jut proves it. This is the kind of red that beats the living crap out of you and steals your wallet but no matter how hard you try, you forgive him every time. This is a perfect bottle of wine, PERFECT.

Producer Profile

Shiraz is the jewel in Australia’s wine crown widely (and successfully) planted in an array of regions, microclimates and soil types. Shiraz has proved itself an extremely versatile variety, producing fullbodied, ripe berry examples from the warm regions, and lean, spicy styles from the cool.

Fruit for this wine was sourced from three vineyards across two premier subregions of the Barossa Valley; Ebenezer and Stonewell. Made in our favouritestyle of classic Barossa Shiraz (power with elegance), this wine was cool fermented for eight days before being racked into older French Hogsheads for 10 months maturation

Tasting Note

Deep inky red with a purple rim. Lifted notes of dark plum, chocolate and vanilla. Generous and ripe without being overpowering. Fresh red and black fruits, with some hints of vanilla oak. Fine tannins and good length.  A well balanced Shiraz which shows elegance and restraint. Drinking well now, but will reward cellaring of 8 –10 years
