Villa Sandi Il Fresco Rosé

£11.00

Seriously though, it escapes me why people keep buying shit from super markets when you have people like me who try 1000’s of wines a year to drill it down to the best and I mean the best. Stop…being…idiots and trust someone who has done this their entire life! And do you know what, people often think it costs more to produce a rose version of a wine and that is not always the case but every other single company or person on Earth who sells a rose alternative will always charge you more because that is what you are lead to believe but not me, it does cost less so I CHARGE YOU LESS!

Winery Background Information

Villa Sandi is a beautiful Palladian style villa which dates back to 1622 and lies in the heart of Treviso, at the bottom of the foot of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG hills. The Villa is owned by the Moretti Polegato family, who have been devoted to winemaking for three generations and today is one of the leading Prosecco producers, recognised across the globe for its outstanding award-winning wines. The winery is at the forefront of technology and innovation, and set themselves apart by freezing the must prior to secondary fermentation ensure the wines maintain maximum freshness, and more recently producing a no-added sulphur Prosecco.

Vineyard info / Viticulture

Areas dedicated to vine growing in the north eastern regions of Italy with marly soils of alluvial origin rich in subsoil.

Vinification

White grapes are pressed and the resulting must is put into temperature controlled tanks until the production of sparkling wine. Red grapes are pressed and put into tank for extraction of colour and a few tannins. The white wine and a small portion of the red wine is mixed and yeast is added for fermentation. Once the wine reaches the desired alcohol and sugar content fermentation is stopped by refrigeration. After a minimum of 2 months the wine is ready for bottling.

Tasting Note

Light and bright rose colour. Fine and delicate perlage. Fruity and flowery bouquet with delicate notes of unripe golden apple and small mountain flowers. The flavour is dry, fresh and zesty with a fruity and harmonious aftertaste.

Food Match

Excellent as an aperitif and ideal with fish especially with Livornese style fish.
