MWC

Released for the first time in 2014, the MWC wines are made with food in mind. Soft, savoury, earthy styles with a European influence, they are a rustic style full of interesting, complex characters made for those who love great, honest wines.

Producer Profile

They are an independent, family owned winery making wines that are served in beautiful bars and restaurants around the globe.  Since their origin in 1968, they have steadily established ourselves as Australia’s least well known top twenty winery, happily enjoying our under the radar reputation as a quality, efficient and innovative winemaker for those in the know.

Their aim, with every wine they make, is to produce excellent, high quality wines combining the care and attention of a micro producer with the efficiencies of a major player.  This attention to detail and quest for perfection has seen them steadily attract like-minded partners across the globe, and allowed them to grow into the winery you see today.

Winemaking

The grapes for this Pinot Noir were picked from single vineyards located in Northern Victoria. Grapes were crushed during the cool of the evening to retain their varietal character, while modern winemaking techniques were employed throughout the winemaking process. Fermentation took place in sweeping arm red fermenters, giving the wine a dense, rich colour and allowing for gentle and maximum flavour extraction.

Tasting Note

The aroma is enticing with intense plum, cherry and strawberry fruit with a hint of spice. The fresh fruit momentum continues on the palate with vibrant plum and dark stone fruits finishing with some firm acid, beautiful tannins and integrated oak.

Food Matching

This Pinot is a great match with roast duck, rabbit or pork. Also perfectly balances dishes like porcini mushroom risotto, rich pasta dishes or fine cheese.
