Producer Profile

The Biscardo Family have been making wine from their base in Soave for over 150 years and are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino.

During the course of Maurizio’s long and illustrious career, he has consulted for well known wineries around Italy and in doing so he came across the vineyards for their Puglian wines. Both the Pugliese and Veneto wines are characterised by an irresistible drinkability, aromatic purity and exceptional value for money.

Viticulture

Negroamaro is cultivated on flat land, about 100 metres above sea level, with higher than average temperatures, and very little rainfall. The vines are rooted into a top layer of metre deep, medium-grained clay.

Winemaking

Grapes are harvested and taken to the winery for de-stemming and crushing. Stainless steel, temperature controlled fermentation before malolactic fermentation and ageing in stainless steel and bottle.

Oak Ageing

No oak ageing

Tasting Note

Touches of pepper, bergamo cherries and black fruits on the nose, with an intensely fruity and full bodied palate.

Food Matching

Pasta, red meats, game and matured cheese.
